The English trailer of the new Pokémon Volcanion is officially released in the official Pokémon Youtube Channel. What are your thoughts on this latest Pokémon that we totally haven't known about for years?
Although some people already know by leaks and Pokémon Showdown

I absolutely love the concept of Volacanion! I've always, always wanted a Water/Fire Pokemon and I'm super excited to finally see it happen. It seems a little biased towards fire though, with the main red theme and the name showing off the "volcano" part. Even so, it'll be a great Pokemon in the coming generation! I wonder how it'll affect the metagame? o:

I think Volcanion fits its type combination pretty well in design and concept. It is classified as the "steam" Pokemon, and steam is water in its gas phase (which is formed when water boils.) Volcanion's design seems to be based off a nuclear reactor. It has the head of a fox, two heavy pillar shaped feet, a body shaped like an egg, and a giant tube over its back designed to convert water into steam. If you've seen its animation when it uses its signature move "steam eruption", it opens its tube into two, lights up, and sprays powerful bursts of steam at the enemy.

Nuclear reactors don't look anything like Volcanion though. If anything, it looks like an early design steam engine, which would fit in more too. And it's head is rather large and broad and would be better compared to that of a tiger or a larger animal than a fox. Also, it's body shape is a volcano, fitting in with the name quite well, more so than an egg. xD

Oh come on at least give me credit for the fox head. Its head looks more like a fox than a tiger.
And the tube doesn't really look like either. I can't accurately compare it to anything.
And its body looks more like a seed than a volcano if we're going to be as literal as possible. xD

My gash its ears are more fox like and the shape of its head is more fox like. Its nose area is more tiger-like though. Also I never meant that he literally looked like a nuclear reactor because that would be silly.

Also, you said "Volcanion's design seems to be based off a nuclear reactor" which practically means he literally looks somewhat like a nuclear reactor. xD

I don't know why I wrote it like that. It looks more like a seed fox with heavy pillared feet and a conversional tube more than a nuclear reactor.

I can see how it resembles a seed, somewhat, but don't you think it looks like a floating Volcano too, if one were to be dug up? It would certainly fit better. I mean, after all, it's Volcanion and not Seedinion Also, what makes you say that the conversion of water to steam happens inside the tube? o: Am I missing some detail they mentioned?

Regarding the tubes it's just my theory, but it's probably silly.

I think it's more likely that the water is converted to steam inside it's body (call it seed, call it volcano) and then it passes through the tubes which act like barrels that meet at the top. Sort of like a canon.

Well, whatever Volcanion is supposed to resemble, I can't help but feel like it should have been a case of 'back to the drawing board'.
This design is just not good IMO...
Fire/Water is cool though.
