Pokemon GO
Back in September, Tsunekazu Ishihara, with dedication to the late Satoru Iwata, announced Pokemon GO.
For those of you who don't yet know about it, Pokémon GO is an augmented reality game for mobile phones, scheduled to be released in 2016 for iOS and Android devices.
The game will be released alongside the Pokémon Go Plus, a small wearable device developed by Nintendo, which uses a Bluetooth connection to notify users when a Pokémon is nearby.
The game allows players to capture, battle, train and trade virtual Pokémon who appear throughout the real world. It's also going to be free to play but will have in-app purchases for bonuses and whatnot.
Here's the official trailer for Pokemon GO.

Seems like it could be a lot of fun if you have friends to play it with. Cute concept. Probably worth the buy.

What do you think about the fact that some Pokemon will only be found in some places of the world. There's a possibility that Oddish is only found in Asia! D:

I wonder if events like that Mewtwo capture will ever actually happen o_o
Think many non-Pokemon-fans will be picking up Pokemon Go since it's free?

I will honestly be so annoyed if I miss out on all the good Pokemon for living where I do.
Events like the Mew-two one will probably happen. If you think about it, they happen now too. Location-based Pokemon distribution is the same thing, really.

A few pieces from an article online:
Our goal is to make it so you can walk out of the house and within five minutes, you can find Pokémon. It may not be the most rare Pokémon in the world, but there’ll be a population of Pokémon living near all our players. Gyms will be a bit more rare. You want to find gyms so you can level up your Pokémon and battle there, so it will take a little more effort to get there.
Pokémon will live in different parts of the world depending on what type of Pokémon they are. Water Pokémon will live near the water. It may be that certain Pokémon will only exist in certain parts of the world. Very rare Pokémon may exist in very few places. But you can trade. If you live in a place with lots of water Pokémon and you come to an event — we have these Ingress events that are getting bigger and bigger. We’ll have our biggest weekend ever on Saturday.
As for Pokemon Go Plus, It’s a nice way to take a step in the mobile ecosystem for them. That came out of two influences. One was a learning from Ingress. We wanted to give people a way to play the game where you didn’t necessarily have to take your phone out and interact with the UX. Part of the idea of the game is, you’re outside and you can see beautiful things. If you’re always staring at your phone, you’re not seeing the world around you. We had brainstormed this idea. Why not have a little device that buzzes when you’re near something important? You can interact with it in some subtle way, and then later on you can open up your app or your tablet and you see, “Oh, I got this or did that.” That was one of the influences.

I'm excited for it! Not super hyped, but I'm sure it'll be fun. I'm not too crazy about having to travel certain places to get certain Pokemon but there's going to be a trading system, no? At least I hope there is. If not, then I guess it's road trip time! I bet I'll find lots of grass, water and normal types since I live in Seattle. The only thing I'm concerned about is people seeing me when I'm trying to catch Pokemon. It could be really embarrassing!

Pokemon GO will feature gyms! Here's an excerpt from an article below: "Hanke: Our goal is to make it so you can walk out of the house and within five minutes, you can find Pokémon.
